VISIT OF
THE MARAIS
THURSDAY 29 JANUARY
Title: The Hidden Marais: Royal History & Parisian Secrets
The Marais is more than just a neighborhood; it is the vibrant soul of Paris. World-famous for its historic Jewish quarter, trendy designer boutiques, and buzzing nightlife, it is the ultimate hangout spot for locals. People flock here to enjoy the best falafels, explore art galleries, and experience the energy of the capital's LGBT district.
But step off the main street, and everything changes. Behind the lively facades lies a preserved Paris, untouched by modern renovations. A maze of medieval alleys and Renaissance architecture that reveals itself only to those who know where to look.
During this 1-hour tour, we take you "Backstage":
Royal Architecture: Marvel at the stunning Hôtels Particuliers (Private Mansions) from the 17th century, relics of a time when nobility and kings ruled this area.
Hidden Gems: Discover secret gardens invisible from the street and surprising remnants of the past, like sections of the medieval Wall of Philippe Auguste.
Unique Atmosphere: Walk on ancient cobblestones and soak in the history of iconic spots like the Place des Vosges (the oldest square in Paris) or the quaint Village Saint-Paul.
Far from the tourist crowds, this is an intimate dive into the authentic history of France.
This tour is free, but registration is mandatory (we don’t want to end up with 100 people 😄). The tour will be conducted in English and we usually welcome a majority of foreigners, but everyone is welcome!
